Hi
Aloha and Mele Kalikimaka (Merry Christmas), Happy Holidays and blessings to you and your family.
I hope this message finds you well. I am doing great, getting ready for Christmas, and the Holiday Season.
For some, the Holidays can be quite stressful and downright depressing. My wish to you is you find hope and know things will get better. Please, if you are feeling down, talk with someone to help you through.
I have been quite blessed with past Christmas memories. We always got together for the Holidays and carried on a number of traditions. One of my favorites was going to the Nielsen house, where we would gather every Christmas Eve. During the festivities, out would come the old 8 MM projector to play a silent version of "The Night Before Christmas" poem. Each year we took turns reading the poem.
The Nielsen gathering was a time where my closest friends and I would gather spreading cheer and good will. My first Christmas at the Nielsen's was when was 16. Mrs. Nielsen would make eggnog spiced with a little bit of rum.
At my first Christmas there, Mrs. Nielsen insisted that I bring a note signed by my mom that would allow me to drink the eggnog with the rum. And that was exactly what I did. Many years later, Mrs. Nielsen, gave me a Christmas present which was that framed original note signed by my mom. We laughed and laughed! We were fortunate to carry on this tradition for many years.
Another favorite memory was of my daughter, Kamalei, (age 6 or 7) who asked me:
"Dad have you ever seen Santa Claus? Has anyone ever seen him?"
Hmmm. The innocence is almost over.... I patted my heart and said, I've seen him right here...
I hope you cherish your own Holiday memories and keep them close to your heart.
One of my best Christmas gifts this year was Modernist Pizza from my friend Randy! Randy I am totally blown away. Thanks.
I want to share with you a pizza memory of this past year when I got a chance to speak with Tony Gemignani. In this video Tony talks about creating a 4-hour ferment, working on Bar Rescue, how he came up with the idea for Dago Bagel and much more. I know you will find this video educational as well as entertaining.

Until Next time, I want to wish you the best Christmas and Holiday Season ever...

Here is a video I created a number of years ago, that echoes my message of Holiday Cheer!
