Greetings pizza lover!

 

Pepperoni is one of my favorite all time pizza toppings. The research shows that I am not alone. Pepperoni is the number one topping for pizza lovers in the United States. I always thought pepperoni was invented in Italy.

 

The truth of the matter is that pepperoni is not Italian at all. Pepperoni was invented in the United States. 

 

While I was at Pizza Expo, someone suggested I try Ezzo Pepperoni. I did and I was blown away.

 

I was able to speak with Darren Ezzo, one of the owners and creators of this fantastic topping. He explained the real secret to great pepperoni. He also explains how pepperoni is made. More importantly he reveals the secret to great pepperoni. (Hint: There is no secret!)
