People always ask me, "Albert, where did Pizza Therapy come from? Why did you start?
What is Pizza Therapy?"
Today, I want to give you a brief story of how I started and why I continue with my pizza adventures. I'll include a video at the end of this email that discusses the beginning.
When I was in high school, my Dad would stop at a bakery on his way home from work and pick up a couple of pounds of dough. At home, he would stretch out the dough on a cookie sheet, add olive oil, canned tomatoes, cheese, and pepperoni, throw it in the oven,
and magic would happen. I can still smell the incredible pizza cooked in the oven.
When I told my friends, they asked me to come over and sample Dad's Pizza. My Dad was delighted to have them there. He made pizza after pizza, and then we would sit around discussing life's issues. Whenever my Dad made pizza, this became a defining moment in my relationship with him.
Years later, my Dad became ill. I wanted to honor him in some way. I remembered his days
making pizza, trying to think how he created magic with pizza. He was involved in pizza and a kind of healing. Then it came to me: Pizza Therapy!
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
